Cub Cadet Riding Mower
Owned by International Harvester, Cub Cadet is a great company for lawn tractors. Cub Cadet has been around since 1961, and during the 1960s, it came up with a completely new line of lawn and garden equipment. Cub Cadet riding mowers and lawn tractors could use a wide variety of attachments, making them great as snow blowers, plows, front loaders, haulers and many other tools.

Cub Cadet Riding Mowers - An Innovative Brand
The first Cub Cadet was the International Cub Cadet, or the Original. Powered by a seven hp Kohler engine, this machine sold between 1960 and 1963. It didn't feature the direct drive transmission, which Cub Cadet was later to become famous for. Instead, it used a belt and flywheel. Later models eliminated the need for the belt, and made the entire tractor a lot more efficient.
In 1981, Cub Cadet was purchased by MTD. For many years, however, the company kept on operating independently. MTD made some changes, however. The heavy, cast iron backs of the original International Harvester tractors were replaced by a lighter aluminum rear end. Cub Cadets were also produced in yellow and white, in addition to the traditional red.
Over the years, this brand has been responsible for many innovations. Cub Cadet is responsible for the first Zero Turn lawn tractor - now a popular high end feature on many riding mowers. The company also engineered a special CycloCut mowing deck, and developed the first Zero Turn tractor that could be operated using a steering wheel, instead of levers. They were the first to use heavy duty hydrostatic automatic transmissions, and were the first and only brand of lawn tractors to feature direct shaft drive.
To this day, Cub Cadet is dedicated to producing the right lawn tractors for your needs. They're dedicated to meeting and exceeding the needs of people everywhere - whether they're homeowners or landscaping pros. In addition to lawn and garden tractors, Cub Cadet also produces utility vehicles and compact commercial tractors, too.
With a cult following of vintage Cub Cadet collectors, and a range of excellent new tractors, this company is an excellent choice for almost anyone. If you have a lot of space to mow, or other lawn and garden chores to accomplish, there's a good chance the answer is a tractor from Cub Cadet. They've been around for a long time, and are still top performers.
If it's time to get rid of your old lawn tractor or upgrade from your pushmower, be sure to check out all the tractors on the market. But while you're looking, be sure you take the time to look at a Cub Cadet. You won't be sorry, and there's a pretty good chance you'll find the lawn tractor you've been looking for.
