Lawnboy Lawn Mowers for Sale
The first Lawnboy lawnmower was made in 1936, by the Evinrude company, a producer of outboard motors. This was the first one handed power mower ever introduced in the USA. Unfortunately, World War II halted production, and the company was dedicated to producing military outboard motors instead. It wasn't until the later 1940s that production of consumer grade lawnmowers and other products could continue. During this time, there were some real advances in lawnmower technology.

Lawnboy Lawnmowers Have a Solid History
In 1952, the company purchased the Rotary Power Mower Company, and began producing rotary mowers under the Lawnboy name, instead of the older type. These are similar to the kind of mowers we still use today. By 1956, Lawnboy had taken the lead in production and marketing of walk behind power mowers. The sealed Quietflite engine was introduced in 1958, making it a lot easier and more pleasant to use a Lawnboy. Once noisy engines were now a whole lot quieter.
The company continued to expand through the 1960s, and by 1970, had become twenty to thirty percent more powerful. Plus, the two cycle engine now meant fewer parts, lighter mowers, and easier service. By 1973, lawnboy had developed the first cordless electric motor, as well. The line continued to expand in popularity, and in 1989, the brand was purchased by Toro, Lawnboy's biggest competitor.
Toro was responsible for expanding Lawnboy's distribution to all kinds of mass retailers. By the mid 1990s, nearly sixty percent of the people who bought a Lawnboy had already owned one in the past. The company's products continue to advance, as well. 2005 saw a brand new line of walk behind mowers, including new zero radius turning mowers. In 2009, the company released a budget friendly line of twenty inch mowers for those who want to get back to basics and avoid spending too much.
Currently, Lawnboy offers a wide variety of options when it comes to lawnmowers. From the basic line to the company's adjustable Insight series, there's a Lawnboy out there for nearly everyone.
